Hippy kids are coming for hiphop!

Featured artist: Chris Cool Peeples - Hippy kids are coming for hiphop!

As part of our ongoing "Rap's New Generation" series, today we sat down with the upcoming underground artist Chris Cool Peeples from Schenectady to talk about his recent music, his upcoming projects, his career advice and his overall experiences being in the music industry and he did not disappoint...

Thanks for taking the time to talk with us, Chris Cool Peeples! Let's go back to the beginning of your career. How did you decide to become an artist?

Chris Cool Peeples: Well Lil Wayne inspired me to pick up a pencil and start writing lines but it wasn't till around the beginning of the Cole era where I actually started putting meaning and love into the words I wrote.

" If this is what you love to do, why stop doing it?"

What about concerts? Do you play live?

I have performed over 10+ times in the Albany, NY capital region alongside some amazing artists and friends. It's my favorite part of being an artist. Bringing thoughts and vibes directly to the people, ya know?

Best punchline you ever wrote?

Gotta appreciate every gift, it's a blessing they let you live. Yea you guessed it bro this is it, it's a hit, the only time I miss? December 25th homie. (Chris-miss)
my presence means that it's a wrap. It's not about where you from its bout where you at. My state of mind just got me stating facts, I'm clocked in.

What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?

Right now I'm wrapping up the last couple songs for my HIPPYFLIP project set to release in March 2019. It's great because it's a real refreshing sound for sure. I just dropped a cool ass track titled 'DOOMSDAY' with a video on my Facebook page. It's a cover to a throwback Kid Cudi track I really rock with. Hes a goat for sure. Put some respect on his gangsta lol

Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

Fuck yeah man I don't see why not. My goal is to spread a message more than anything and really tap into the crowds and music festivals, direct consumers. The team you get behind you is a major pro and a con would obviously be losing out on some money with your music but it's all risk vs. reward. Comes with the territory.

Any last words?

BIG BIG BIG Shoutout to the whole 518 upstate NY music scene. People making a lot of noise out here right now it's super inspiring! Schenectady, Albany, Troy on the rise.

Where can people follow you to stay up-to-date?

Thank you for your time. We wish you much success in your further career.
