Cat in the shadows

Featured artist: Autonomous Cat - Cat in the shadows

Below is a short interview with the upcoming underground artist Autonomous Cat.

How did you decide to become an artist?

Autonomous Cat: I started as a EDM DJ many moons ago. Tried my hands at EDM production and found the market to be much too saturated with others trying the same thing. As a 90's Hip Hop fan it only made sense to make the jump to producing old school Boom Bap beats and a little Trap for some flavor.

Opinions are like assholes, everyone has one.

What about concerts? Do you play live?

Currently no. I gave up DJ'ing when I dropped EDM and the digital world took over. Vinyl for life.
For now ill stick behind the mixing desk but that could change, you never know.

Best punchline you ever wrote?

16? Nah gimmie 32 and we got a track.

What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?

I am currently working with many local MC's in my area, providing beats and tracking vocals. I had some past releases on a couple EDM labels but nothing to write home about. I am looking forward to my label launch in the near future, working to provide an outlet for new and underground Hip Hop.

Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

I think ultimately signing with a major label is what any artist dreams of. The best part of a major signing is exposure however the worst part would be everyone behind you claiming you are a sellout. Damned if you do damned if you dont.

Any last words?

Shout out to JellyNote (Tim Lange) for his mixdown and engineering work. Wiseguy (Nick Mravunac) for his down to earth attitude (Watch for his mixtape "Patches" to drop in the near future)
Xavier Walker for his dedication to his craft. Practice makes perfect and this guys proves it.

Where can we contact you?

Thank you for your time. We wish you and your career the success it deserves.
