Featured artist: Alnzo - New Artist, New Sound
Below is a short interview with the upcoming underground artist Alnzo.
How did you decide to become an artist?
Alnzo: I started of as a student learning recording engineering and music production at Full Sail University, but realized being in the background wasn't for me since I can play music and sing.
You develop your sound through your limitations, so make the best of what your given.
What about concerts? Do you play live?
I've played live as a backing musician, but not as a solo artist….yet.
Best punchline you ever wrote?
Where is it
What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?
After '5 Days' that I just released, I still have more naterial I haven't released. I'm just waiting on the right time to release it. I previously released a project called Medivibe which I was able to get some distribution for through CD baby. Before that I released three different projects on soundcloud. All of this was released in the past 6 months.
Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I would as long as I could negotiate owning my masters, keeping 100% creative control, and own all or majority of my royalties while sharing at the most 50% of my net profit. The pros of a major deal is more of a finnancial backing and bigger promotion, as well as touring help. The cons on the otherhand is if you are unaware of what you should be entitled to own then you may end up with a deal that may not work in your favor. If you have a sound and you know where you want to go with your music then you may get more freedom, but if you just want to be famous then you may not. At the end of the day, if you were running a business you would want to run a successful business at that.
Any last words?
Shoutout to 808, 941 and Shoutout to boys Jamar, Chardo, Adrian, and Jelani (Mr. Camera man) aka. Deputy Daniels
