Below is a short interview with the upcoming underground artist MAURO.
How did you decide to become an artist?
MAURO: I’ve been an artist since I was very little, I started painting, drawing, acting and getting involved in various fields. I think there was a time when I thought: ”Hey, i love this, this makes me happy, and I have found myself in this”. Being an artist has helped me find who I really am, my true identity. It is my music that moves me through this earth, the style I wanna portray, the colors my eyes are obessed with, the words inside my head I can’t forget that are turned into songs afterwards. I decided an artistic path, because I felt it, I loved it, and it made me understand so many things about myself. I compose music every single day of my life and it’s something I see myself doing for the rest of it. It is a silver lining inside my soul. I consider myself a lyric creature, a beat monster, a twisted mind, a broken-lonely heart, a hard core lover, a sweet songwriter and someone who has a lot to give when it comes to music, and by a lot i mean I have the weapons, I count on the warrior in me, this monster on the prowl for pure trains of thoughts and deep souls… I consider myself a poet, writer, musician… someone who executes the beauty of the human soul in different ways, through music, pictures, paintings, thoughts, words. I’m an artist and I’ve learned from it is that everybody can label you as they want… but what really matters is how you label yourself, and how you feel yourself with what you’re doing. Do what you love and you’ll love what you do. No matter what you do, if you love it, if it makes you happy… just keep on doing it!

What about concerts? Do you play live?
I love performing live, and the people when they are feeling you through every song. I like giving my performances a personal touch, so people can remember you for the words your heart conveyed and the moves your body expressed.
Best punchline you ever wrote?
Love a life, sing a song, beat louder. Steal a heart
What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?
I’m working on getting signed. I just released my latest music production ”Making Love 2 U”, a silver lining, a struggle for love. I’m tremendously proud of this hit song of mine. I think it represents us as humans, and our longing to feel safe, hopeful, happy. I’ve released my first independent album when I was 10, and the second one called ”Living With Music” at age 12. I’ve been writing, composing music, producing and performing since then… I’m very proud of my work, my art and craft, and what I’ve accomplished as an unsigned artist.
Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
yes, I would sign a record contract. It is important for an artist to get exposure, promotion, and all types of support and there are major labels that can bring it to you so your music gets heard, seen and appreciated even more.
Any last words?
I compose music for those lonely hearts and broken dreamers. …You are not alone and your dreams are not broken!
