Featured artist: AamusexentriX aka Slick - Impact in the Underground Hip-hop & rap movement
Below is a short interview with the upcoming underground artist AamusexentriX aka Slick.
How did you decide to become an artist?
AamusexentriX aka Slick: Throughout my life i have been told that i have talent, with rhymes & lyrics. As a teenager i started writing poetry & rock songs. I tried starting a punk band after learning guitar and acoustic in grade 11. Although i was determined to start a band, i could not find people with the same work drive as myself to succeed. I later retired the idea of starting a band. But continued writing. When i was 18 i started doing freestyles at party’s for attention. For years friends, family & acquaintances urged me to pursue music. Claiming i was really talented & had potential for Making it. I would laugh it off & shake it off, almost every time. Then finally one day my best friend also my blood brother. Said to me this is the last time I’m gonna urge you to pursue your dream, you have something man, you are going somewhere with this. Im jealous, i wish i was able to write rhymes like you. That night i went home gave drinking up & i have been writing & making music ever since. This is why i always say Music saved my life, so the music i create is my life.
Never give up & don’t let people bring you down.
What about concerts? Do you play live?
Yes. But it has been awhile since i have done a show.
Best punchline you ever wrote?
Aamusexentrix Some say i got the gift of gab some say i talk to much. honestly tho i prefer to rap its my rush. Some say i have the eye’s of the a star. I jus smirk at them all cause i knew this from afar.
What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?
I am always working on something. My new mixtape AamusexentriX – Demise & Demolish is coming soon. Already released mix tapes. The eye’s of a star & blitz city (2 recent mix tapes) & currently my album AamusexentriX – The Keplar Apex.
Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes. If the people agree with the direction i would like to go. Strangemusic is more the direction I’m looking at because i enjoy being a Underground Rap & hip0-hop artist.
