Below is a short interview with the upcoming underground artist DL Moreno.
How did you decide to become an artist?
DL Moreno: I started playing music at a very young age, 9 or 10 years old. My mom was the lead singer of a girl group back in the 60’s, and was signed to Warner Bros Records…music was in my home for as long as I can remember. Started with the drums, then eventually developed my singing/rapping/production over the years. I love writing, performing and producing. Now my music is starting to catch on, and it feels really good to finally have a fan base. Validates what I do. As an artist.
I was working with some older music software, sent one of the tracks to a DJ/producer acquaintance of mine who also hosts a nationally syndicated radio show. He was blunt, told me the software I was using was too old. He said if you wanna compete in today’s market, get either this or that software. And he was absolutely right!
What about concerts? Do you play live?
I havent in a few years, but. my video NAH MEAN will be live on Coast 2 Coast mixtapes on 10/23/14! It will be judged by a rep from Bad Boy Records and 1 of Nicki Minaj’s producers.

What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?
I just released my track NAH MEAN! DJ Suss-One from Power 105.1 FM just debuted NAH MEAN on his show on 10/11/14! I’m very exvited about that because he has millions of listeners and Powrer 105 is one of the top hip hop stations in the nation!Ues
Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes, but it would have to be a mutually beneficial deal. Can’t comment on the pros/cons since I’ve never been signed to a major deal.

Yes! Shout out goes to Jaywan Inc for the beat, John FU, owner of CUTM Entertainment, for directing my very first music video, Dave Fore for remixing and mastering NAH MEAN and getting it ready for radio airplay. I’d also like to shout out DJ Suss-One for debuting NAH MEAN on his show, Flo Stacked from NYLA Media for getting my song to Power 105 FM, and last but not least, the sexy lingerie models Paige Turner and Laurena CE for making my music video sexy!
