Featured artist: Apollo13 - Az’s finest
Below is a short interview with the upcoming underground artist Apollo13.
How did you decide to become an artist?
Apollo13: I’ve always loved music when i was about 8 or nine i had a cassette radio player with a recorder and would make beats and try to make songs on it it was crazy but fun. I got serious about it last year i was in the navy my interest in the military life was dwindling and i saw my beat friend Robert portz (zillz) in his group doing his thing and i was like screw it its time to give this music thing a shot. So i started making songs trying to improve on each track and finally when i came home to visit zillz was at a crossroads with his group and i was ready to hit the studio and make something happen and we did and ”set it off” was born and the media frenzy started with our peers almost a year later we are still working towards a goal and now we’re at the state fair. Long story short boredom my love for music and drive to want better things in life pushed my start.
The best advice I was given as an artist was keep hustling and never give up on making it.If you make good music the fame will follow.
What about concerts? Do you play live?
Yes I will be performing at the state fair on 0ct 17th 2014 before wuz khalifa takes the stage in the coliseum.
Best punchline you ever wrote?
God of this rap yeah they calling me zues but they know im apollo don’t get it confused
What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?
Last mixtape was (Love Language) which is available on datpiff my next project is my album which I would love to drop next summer.
Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes i would but it would have to be on my terms. Pros well that means you finally made it cons profits not 100 percent yours.
