Below is a short interview with the upcoming underground artist Denny V.

How did you decide to become an artist?

Denny V: I moved to the states back when I was just a kid, and didn’t know a word of English coming from Puerto Rico. Even with that as a road block, I was still fascinated by the Hip-Hop scene and how powerful their word and influence managed to change people’s perspective about life on a daily basis. I wanted nothing more than to be a part of that culture and become one of the very best. After mastering the English language and becoming fluent, I decided to give it a shot and influence those who come across me with positivity and self confidence, and here we are today.

You could think to yourself about how much you deserve something, but unless you fight for it, that’s all you’re gonna end up doing, is thinking.

What about concerts? Do you play live?

I’ve not had the opportunity to play live quite yet. I consider myself as being a perfectionist with most of the things I do. With that said, it’s better to wait for the right timing and make an impact, than to rush into things and be forgotten just as fast as you got there.

Best punchline you ever wrote?

Hearses, for half-way rappers who never intended to be committed, sick of them baby sitting/ watching what they say or do, but who would’ve changed the world if our leaders lead with their mouth closed/

What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?

I’m working on a huge project currently, which will bring out a lot ”first time” experiences for me, so I’m excited. But it’s too early to release any specific details at the moment. Just know that is the biggest thing I’ve ever done in the 5 years I’ve been doing this.

Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

I would certainly sign with a major depending on the circumstances and conditions of it. But who are we kidding, our standards go out the window when a label calls. I guess this question will be answered when the day comes.

Any last words?

Of course. Shout out to the biggest fan I’ve got, my mother, for being behind me through any journey I decide to pursue. Shout out to my cousin, Cristian, been through ups and downs together and has supported the movement since before it was anything serious. Another one goes for my very close rapper homie, Pureverb, all the way out in Canada, couldn’t ask for a better partner in crime. And last but not least, to God, for allowing me to wake up everyday to do what I do.
