Below is a short interview with the upcoming underground artist David Duece.
How did you decide to become an artist?
David Duece: Music has always been something that has driven me. Growing up I was a drummer and persued music as something fun, as an excape. I decided to start writting in my late teens and its where I feel I found my true talent. Ive been writting, recording and performing for about 11 years now but have yet to take the step to high level exposure. I feel ready.
The best advice I was given towards my music as a young artist was ”be yourself and let people love you or hate you for it.”
What about concerts? Do you play live?
Yes I play live and I love it, concerts feel like the reward of alll the.hard work.
Best punchline you ever wrote?
Broad daylight, bodega, me and vega, better wake up the debates up time to bake up this my crown shape up or ship out, bow down or lie down and find out the right route to my town.
What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?
In the past I release an underground mixtape with a fello artist but I am weeks away from releasing a solo mixtape titled ”The Last Renegade” and I am currently starting a collection of original music compositions to start working on an album that I can distribute and sell.
Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I would sign to a label. And I the pros and cons would be spoken about at said time.
Any last words?
Shout out to all up and coming Allentown and ABE artist as a whole. Shout out to El Chain records, Phaze Wun, Dubble Up Ent., Edott, Hek B, Black Ransome, Qash Qai. And anyone from the Lehigh Valley who is taking time and effort.to represent us correctly and to the fullest.
