Featured artist: Melek Ra’ - Who is Melek Ra’?
Just be yourself to the fullest and never give up or give in!
Upcoming underground artist Melek Ra’ just answered some questions. Checkout the interview below and share if you like it.
Thanks for your time. How did you decide to become an artist?
Melek Ra’: I never decided to become an artist, somehow I just realized that I was already an artist! Being an artist decided that it would reside in me!
Even as a child, long before I realized it, I was a natural poet! I became exposed to the craft of being an artist and automatically it dawned on me, this is what I was born for!
There’s much more to the story, but those things are better left for future discussion!
What about concerts? Do you play live?
I do not play any musical instruments but I have performed live on many stages up and down the east coast.
Best punchline you ever wrote?
Too many to pick a best, but here’s a recent line >>> ”I don’t start $h!+, but I finish good like the paint on a star ship!”
What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?
I am currently working on a mixtape and my debut album. I have a lot in store and I’m definitely looking forward to bringing the people what they are looking for!
Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I personally would not sign a typical contract with a major label. The pros are the nationwide/global reach, and expertise of the majors, however the cons are the lack of artist development and oversaturation.
Shoutouts and credits to the fam?
First and foremost I would like to give a shoutout to the Infinite (God)! I would like to give a shoutout to my label, Seba Armon, and all those who have supported me from day one. I also want to give a shoutout to all those who provide outlets for independent artists to gain recognition! Lastly, but certainly not least, I would like to give a shoutout the people and circumstances that influenced me to become the artist that I am!
So how can we contact you?

Thank's for your answers, keep grindin'.
