Interview with Maryland’s own...

Featured artist: Y'man Dog - Interview with Maryland's own…

As part of our ongoing "Rap's New Generation" series, today we sat down with the upcoming underground artist Y'man Dog from Oxon Hill to talk about his recent music, his upcoming projects, his career advice and his overall experiences being in the music industry and he did not disappoint...

Thanks for taking the time to talk with us, Y'man Dog! Let's go back to the beginning of your career. How did you decide to become an artist?

Y'man Dog: I was motivated to become an artist from listening to early 2Pac, WU-Tang, Redman, music enlightened by how they articulated their lives lyrically.

From there it was freestyles until I became tired of not remembering the flows so that birth the somq writer in me. The rest is history!

My best advice to an artist would have to be…"You gotta be valiant and open-minded or life will drown you!"

What about concerts? Do you play live?

Yeah, I perform live often; I'm tenaciously studying booking to expedite more shows in spite of no agent/s but I've been making good traction…stay tuned!

Best punchline you ever wrote?

Think imma bitch, shit imma snap and prove that wrong; running down on ni**gas and burn em' up like the match gone.
