As part of our ongoing "Rap's New Generation" series, today we sat down with the upcoming underground artist Slick vegas from North miami to talk about his recent music, his upcoming projects, his career advice and his overall experiences being in the music industry and he did not disappoint...

Thanks for taking the time to talk with us, Slick vegas! Let's go back to the beginning of your career. How did you decide to become an artist?

Slick vegas: Growing up i seen alot of bad things in my life and also went down the wrong path, i felt like becoming an artist was the only way to express myself truly and have my story shared with the world. They killed my homie cliff in 2008 and ever since then i been in the studio.

You have one life to live make sure you give it your all dreams dont come true overnight.

What about concerts? Do you play live?

The oppurtunity hasnt come around yet, when i feel like my craft is perfected i will pursue it.

What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?

I am currently finished with my first ep set to be released in april its called "skeletxns". My first mixtape was released on datpiff titled "lifes a gamble".

Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

It all depends on terms of course, i want the freedom an creativity to do what i want and when i want. If they cant guarentee me that i will find another way.
