Featured artist: Ciego is Dead - Local Kentucky Artist Creating Grunge & Rap
As part of our ongoing "Rap's New Generation" series, today we sat down with the upcoming underground artist Ciego is Dead from Munfordville to talk about his recent music, his upcoming projects, his career advice and his overall experiences being in the music industry and he did not disappoint...
Thanks for taking the time to talk with us, Ciego is Dead! Let's go back to the beginning of your career. How did you decide to become an artist?
Ciego is Dead: I think music is a way of expression.
Music is the voice for those who want people to listen, but have no one to tell.
I started doing music because I wanted a voice.
Let them think you failed and keep going right under their noses.
What about concerts? Do you play live?
I would like to start doing live shows, although any chance I get, I participate in local contests, etc.
Best punchline you ever wrote?
I'm not good at punchlines.
How about a hitline instead?
What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?
I'm not working on anything new at the moment, only releasing a few covers of songs here and there.
I have about four or five original songs out under Ciego.
I started a new YouTube channel under my name, Nate Hawkins.
You can check that out my newest song on there.
Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes!
I'd sign with a major label, only if I get an accurate amount of revenue for my work.
The bad part is, you don't own it, and they could screw me over.
The good part is, they could help me with my dreams.
Any last words?
I represent me, and those without a voice.
Not a city, me.
Where can people follow you to stay up-to-date?
