Below is a short interview with the upcoming underground artist Dajé.
How did you decide to become an artist?
Dajé: I've always been involved in music since 4 years old; whether it was singing in a choir, dancing, playing the piano, or writing my own songs. I use to sing with my cousins growing up, and as we got older and life separated us, I decided to become a solo artist.
Would you rather be a shooting star or a rising star? You rather be a rising star, because a shooting star grabs your attention and quickly leaves. But a rising star takes a longer time to rise, but when it's up its up there to stay.
What about concerts? Do you play live?
I play at live at open mics, concerts, music conferences, etc.
Best punchline you ever wrote?
I truly live my life by this motto: If there's a will there's a way.
What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?
I've released my first single, and now I'm currently working on my EP.
Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I would, but it would have to be the right one. The pro is that there could be some amazing moguls that can help you that have made it themselves. The cons are there could be people that only want to scam you for your talent so they can make money, and change who you are just because they think a certain look or sound will sell.
