Below is a short interview with the upcoming underground artist J Qool.
How did you decide to become an artist?
J Qool: I decided to become a artist as a child around 10 or 11 years old. Rapping and performing with a couple of cousins doing gospel rap at the church we went to on 7mile and I75 in Detroit MI. Always had a ear for music but really never fell in love with recording and rapping until 2009-2010. Started making beats on fruity loops then started writing and recording, after that the rest was history I knew I had to make a change through song.
The best advice I was given as a artist was from me to myself and To just always be creative and to do what you think nobody else could or would ever think about doin when making music as a recording artist.
What about concerts? Do you play live?
I never played live just the flute back in school because it was required in a music class I had to take in elementary lol. Haven't did any concerts either but Im definitely working on a project to show the world.

Im good on a bad day
What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?
I am currently working my first mixtape Ever after years of mastering and working on my craft called "Something Out of Nothing" The Mixtape. Ive been releasing music since 2009 but not enough to push as a project. This year Im putting everyhing together Ive learned over the years. Finally feel like its my time to go all the way.
Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I would sign a record contract with a major label, but only if its a 50/50 partnership or contingencies that I could profit and build from. The pros to a contract with a major deal to me is the exposure and fincances provided to get your music heard. The cons to me would be being held to limits and not being able to be authentic with your craft, also not being in control of your own craft that might come with signing a major contract deal.
