Below is a short interview with the upcoming underground artist Saymore OrShutUp.

How did you decide to become an artist?

Saymore OrShutUp: I've always had some interesting views and a bold personality. I started writing poetry in middle school and I would memorize and recite lyrics to Lauryn Hill's album. My first performance was at a middle school talent show and I remember how much love I received. The adrenaline you get from performing is amazing and I decided, just this year, that I want to experience that euphoria again and not let my talent go to waste.

AndrĂ© Benjamin once said in an interview, "The comfort zone gets you nowhere—especially in music." So I always try to go outside my comfort zone.

What about concerts? Do you play live?

Right now as an up-and-coming artist/producer I am focusing on music production. My plan is to produce a great project that will be undeniably fantastic.

Best punchline you ever wrote?

The world turns and it turns but it's still cold and blue, so I keep my head high like an Eagle, that's a bird flu.

What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?

I have a variety of instrumentals on SoundCloud (@sosaymore), and I am working on an EP titled "Don't Take Me Serious" to be released independently this year.

Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

I would like to stay an independent artist but if and when that situation arises I would consider. Pros are the financial support, cons are the limit they can put on your style and message.

Any last words?

I grew up on the west coast in a very small city, Portland, OR. After finishing college I moved around a lot, and I'm now residing in the SE so you can say I represent the United States.
