West Coast Female Rapper

Featured artist: Nene B. - West Coast Female Rapper

Below is a short interview with the upcoming underground artist Nene B..

How did you decide to become an artist?

Nene B.: I've been into music my whole life. Growing up in South Central things were definitely hard and I didn't know how to express how I was feeling to others. Instead I turned to writing poems and that turned into me rapping. For a long time I didn't let anyone hear me. I ended up recording with a few of my homeboys I grew up with and they loved me. That boosted my confidence and that's when I knew I wanted to make it my career.

The best advice I was given as an artist is stay focused. I was told to not change anything about me to make anybody feel comfortable. I write all of my music and I was told to not stop. To also apply pressure, promote myself and never stop networking.

- Nene B.

What about concerts? Do you play live?

I never played live or given a concert, but I'm working on getting a manager to book me shows. I know I can do it without a shadow of a doubt.

Best punchline you ever wrote?

I see the snakes, I smell the hating I observe shit while I'm calculating.
- Nene B.

What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?

Currently, I'm working on dropping my single and music video next month. My single will also get radio play. I'm also working on following that up with my debut album.

Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

Well I'm signed to DubCNN Ent Via Empire. It gives me a chance for the major labels to hear my music. An Compton artist by the name of West Haven signed me and I'm so thankful for him. I'm not close minded to signing a contract with a major label as long as I'm in control of my projects and they don't try to change me.

Any last words?

I want to give a shout out to my West Adams family and a special shout out to my mother Sherrie, my sister Shadei, West Haven, my OG homegirl Lil Bit, my bro Lil Man, my homeboy Tiny KB, my homegirl Baby A-Dawg, my og homeboy Mad Ron, Amg the label and anybody rooting for me. The city I'm representing is West Adams, South Central LA.

Where can we contact you?

Nene B.: My twitter account @teamnenebee

Thank you for your time. We wish you and your career the success it deserves.
