KINGMiDAS Ushers in a New Golden Age

Featured artist: KINGMiDAS - KINGMiDAS Ushers in a New Golden Age

Below is a short interview with the upcoming underground artist KINGMiDAS.

How did you decide to become an artist?

KINGMiDAS: Ever since childhood I've always been interested in doing something creative with my life. At first I was really into drawing. Then that shifted into storytelling, then filmmaking and eventually making music. I've been writing raps since 14 but didn't let people know until I was already 19 because I didn't know if I was good enough. But after recording a track, people liked it so I made more and people liked those too.

The best advice I've been given as an artist is to never give up on your dream. Everyone's heard that corny line but it's true 100%. You never know where you can go and it would be really crappy to find out you were your own biggest obstacle when it came to living out your dreams.

What about concerts? Do you play live?

Yes, I do play live at most chances I get. I like the process and experience of booking a show and performing these songs I've made for the people in person. Can't wait for them to get bigger and bigger.

Best punchline you ever wrote?

"Bills" is the best and the worst word here. You can't have both, so you better choose wisely. That 3-Day Notice gettingreally fucking near. Will you pay the rent or send your child to the Ivy's?

What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?

I'm working on my debut project "Blaze347". It's my first release, an unofficial mixtape that is meant to show who I am as an artist. A sort of introduction to who KINGMiDAS is. All songs written, mixed, and mastered by me and only me. Releasing soon (before the end of 2016) so please look out for it!

Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

Yeah I would as long as I knew there weren't any people with ill intentions having a hand in my pocket. With everything you hear about labels nowadays, it seems like a risky move but label backing is extremely helpful. I'd love to be able to release an official studio album with a label as long as the deal I'm under isn't as shady as the stories you hear about record labels recently.

Any last words?

Shoutouts to my rappers Jay Gxld, Lex King, the guys in Gold Mind, KO Flows, Walkinbank $iah, and everyone else I might've forgot.
Shoutouts to my bros Ty Taylor, KaZ, Felix, Paco, Vin, El, and all the rest
Shoutouts to all my supporters, y'all keep me going
Shoutouts to my mother, I do this for you
And finally
Shoutouts to BROOKLYN
