Below is a short interview with the upcoming underground artist Sonick.

How did you decide to become an artist?

Sonick: As a kid I’ve always had a love for music. From singing tv show jingles at 4 to covering Twista verses at the lunch table at 11 to writing my own verses at 16. I always knew music would be apart of my career when I grew up.

The best advice given to me would have to be to not sit around waiting to become successful. YOU create success.

- Sonick

What about concerts? Do you play live?

Although I haven’t had the chance to play with a live band yet, I do perform live quite often.

Best punchline you ever wrote?

While u n***** stuntin and throwing ya money and ballin/I’m orchastratin these plays tryna get thru the lane like an NBA guard man/no slackin I’m runnin it up tryna triple my stack by the mornin/make them triples double u get it, don’t get it? just listen we on it…#HUSTLE

What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?

I am currently working on another mixtape and another album. I recently released my EP, This Is Me, via iTunes and other online retailers August 2014. As well as a host of collaborations that will be coming soon.

Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

If it’s beneficial to me then I would. But I’m not necessarily chasing a record contract. I feel that there are many pros and cons to getting a record contract. To simply put it though, you’re either THE BOSS or WORK FOR THE BOSS. You decide.

Any last words?

I want to give a shout to my management team (1Krown Entertainment), EVERYBODY that’s been rocking with me since my first Just Warmin Up mixatpe, my family (both blood and music), my city Milwaukee, Wisconsin (#Tha9), and most of all my partner in crime, my brother, Nu Money.

Where can we contact you?

Thank you for your time. We wish you and your career the success it deserves.
