Below is a short interview with the upcoming underground artist Kay Soul.
How did you decide to become an artist?
Kay Soul: I was born this way! I have been writing and singing since I was a kid. Music has always been an essential necessity in my life. I have always been a little shy so writing songs and poems was how I expressed myself. it’s my outlet.
Don’t compromise your vision.
What about concerts? Do you play live?
I perform live as often as possible and I hold a yearly event where I perform with a live band.

Be Bold, Be Brave, Be Boundless
What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?
I am currently working on my new EP Deeper. I am releasing the first single ”The Journey” on June 23rd. I previously released my mixtape ”Flowers, Peaches, & all that Other Ish” in October 2014.
Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Signing a major label deal would depend on the terms of the contract. On the up side, a major label would provide me with a wealth of resources to increase exposure and really take my music to the next level at a quicker pace. The down side is that many artist must often compromise their artistry to fit into the image the label has carved out for them.
Any last words?
I am proud to be representing ChiTown in a positive light bringing a new sound to the local music scene. Shout out to my producer/engineer Illa Noize and the team at INMusic Studio.
