Featured artist: Bigg Cell - No Bullshit!
Below is a short interview with the upcoming underground artist Bigg Cell.
How did you decide to become an artist?
Bigg Cell: I got into rap around the age of 12. I always had talent in writing but as a kid all I wrote was poems and short stories. At that time rap music was heavily influenced by the east coast and when The L.O.X came out with We Are The Streets, Jadakiss immediately became my favorite rapper after two songs. I’d heard countless rappers rhyme words, he rhymed phrases with ease. I wanted to do that and have it make the same impact lyrically.
Be yourself and stay independent. I was always looking for an industry deal because I wanted to be comparable to industry artists in every way. haha I’m glad someone saw the potential in me and thought enough about my well being to steer me away from that.
What about concerts? Do you play live?
Yea I love to perform. it got to the point where I was paying to perform more than I was being paid to perform. So my schedule is more open than usual but I get paid every time I show up so it’s ok.
Best punchline you ever wrote?
Aside from the fact you wack and don’t believe it/ my slow flow box in more squares than cheez-it
What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?
I’m currently finishing my project, The Bigg Moment, and under my newly acquired distribution deal thru Universal/Worldwide Distribution, I’m planning on much success as I break through unfamiliar ground.
Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I would not sign to a major simply because I’m a money over fame kinda guy. I’ll be known as much as my music allows me to be but i can get paid as much as I want.
Any last words?
