Featured artist: B’Anka - Next to Blow

Below is a short interview with the upcoming underground artist B’Anka.

How did you decide to become an artist?

B’Anka: After several years of training, schooling, and being in various girl groups represented under various management companies, I decided to become a solo Artist. I had to make creative choices as an individual that would fully expose the best of my capabilities in the industry. I wanted creative control.

To believe in myself 100% and have unwavering faith! No one can believe you, if you don’t truly believe in yourself.

- B’Anka

What about concerts? Do you play live?

I do play live shows, I have a band as well as a producer.

Best punchline you ever wrote?

Is it cliche to say, I don’t do punch lines?
- B’Anka

What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?

I am currently working on making more music, touring, print work, and really gaining more exposure in the business. I’m working on more content of course, my music video and finishing up my EP.

Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

At this point, it really depends. It would really have to be beneficial and long term. I am looking for a contract that gives me every opportunity to showcase my creativity and talents to the world while not compromising any part of myself for something short term. I want longevity and I want a team (record label) with a plan for me to do nothing but succeed. I do understand that is the intentions of most Artists and label however, the ”team” is not always fully invested. I want to make good music and make it last!

Any last words?

I first and foremost want to shout out God for giving me the Talents that no one but he can take away. I have a strong passion for Music and thats what is missing in the game – it’s all about a paycheck. I love the music! I also want to shout out my manager and fan, Jerry Palacio, he’s making a lot happen for me and truly believes in the craft and myself. My glam squad, Alejandra Torres (MUA) and Corie (Hair), my choreographer who truly inspired me to move mountains and to trust and believe whole heartedly. My mother, of course, she’s my rock and stands by me 200%! Lastly, Rap beats, because it’s only right to say thank you for the opportunity to make this interview possible!

Where can we contact you?

B’Anka: I do have a website however, is being revamped. As of now, you can contact me on Facebook Music – www.Facebook.com/B.AnkaDenaeMusic

Thank you for your time. We wish you and your career the success it deserves.
