Featured artist: Ytee Ymg - African Producer/Writer/Rapper & Composer

Below is a short interview with the upcoming underground artist Ytee Ymg.

How did you decide to become an artist?

Ytee Ymg: I have always been in love with music, went to a music school at the age of six, got influenced by the production of Dr. Dre, the intellectual rapping of Nas and the poetic revolutionary rapping of 2pac. I always did music for fun and i realized how much music became a business, then i really took it o heart to make it a profession.

You would be hated upon, you would get good deal and bad deals, never let the bad bring your spirit down and never give up

- Ytee Ymg

What about concerts? Do you play live?

Yes I do, i am a one man, one band

Best punchline you ever wrote?

This the savage land, home of the greedy vultures, she got sticky fingers and she wanna be an usher, how you tryna play a playa, i see everything like the eye on the dollar
- Ytee Ymg

What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?

I am actually working on my 4th un-released mixtape. I don’t stop, i record my tapes 2 years in advance. The tape i am getting ready to put out now is a tape i recorded 2 years ago. I learned that from my music pop’s 2pac

Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

Yes I Would, First off, i didn’t fly from africa to american to be a local buzz, if that’s the case, i would go independent, production, recording and mastering can be done by me, so yes i would sign a major contract for the promotion and publicity worldwide. i’m looking to sell records, not just a few thousand. that’s why i make sure i sound unique. nobody sounds like me, same way nobody sounds like Akon

Any last words?

Shout out to all my fellow africans and african americans, my YMG squad in america and my YMG squad in Ghana, shout out to Leak Banga, Okomfo Kwadee, Young Ice, Lighter, Y Millz, shout to my family in the states and back home. Shout out to the most high God for keeping me alive even in the time of death.
