Montana up and comers with a vision for the future....

Featured artist: 3rd Culture - Montana up and comers with a vision for the future….

Below is a short interview with the upcoming underground artist 3rd Culture.

How did you decide to become an artist?

3rd Culture: I (Einstein), was interested in music from a very early age. I was learning piano by 7, picked up a guitar at 12, and I just went from there. At first, I was all about that Rock N Roll lifestyle, but meeting Earl Sweatshirt from the Odd Future crew inspired me to start rapping.

MARZ came into Hip Hop from the dancing aspect at first. He had a dance crew in Cali that was really good. We had gone to High School together in Three Forks, MT, and just met up again in Bozeman after not seeing each other for years. I was rapping, so he started sending me stuff he was writing. After a while, I was like, ”Hey, I’ve got this idea for a group, we’re gunna be called 3rd Culture.”

Be sincere with every part of your music.

What about concerts? Do you play live?

Yes, we love playing our live sets, they are full of energy! We DJ our productions into our shows as well, and are currently working on integrating Ableton Live within our sets to allow more room for experimentation.

Best punchline you ever wrote?

Doctor said I got that ADHD/ I threw the pills at his face, said ”bitch don’t play me’/

What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?

We released a full length album around 6 months ago, called ”Off The Hook” It is a concept album with four distinct acts. We just rereleased it free of charge, you can download the whole album here, http://the3rdculture.bandcamp.com. We also have a new project in the works, tentatively titled, ”Mad Proper.” We wanted to create something that takes elements from Dubstep, Trap, Futurebeats, and Hip Hop, hopefully creating an incredibly lush sonic landscape for listeners to get lost in. We are self-producing the entire thing, we which are very excited about. You can find the single, ”Future.Dope.Music” here, https://soundcloud.com/3rd_culture/future-dope-musik.

Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

I can’t say because it’s such a complicated topic. Of course I’m all for the underground, so I would rather be signed by an independent, than a major. But if it came down to it, I would do my research, and read the contract thoroughly before I made my decision. But if a label didn’t let me have COMPLETE artistic control at all times, that’s a dealbreaker.

Any last words?

Oh man, where do I start? First of all, shout out to my man Nickel B and the whole NorthStar movement, he was the one who put us on the map. He’s about to release a mixtape under ”Nick Busy”, so look out for it, from what I’ve heard its a banger. Also, shout out to Buckshot Killit, Hemingway and the Organix, my man Petey Peak, The Co-Dependents, and all their Rezerected Records brethren. Last but not least, shout out to our extended family, our fans, and our not-so extended families as well. Bozeman Represent!

Where can we contact you?

3rd Culture: Our new stuff is being released here, https://soundcloud.com/3rd_culture/ Thanks!

Thank you for your time. We wish you and your career the success it deserves.
