Featured artist: Don Carlo - Get To Know Don Carlo
Below is a short interview with the upcoming underground artist Don Carlo.
How did you decide to become an artist?
Don Carlo: After all the troubles I noticed happening around myself, I decided to take a step back and avoid the reckless acts I was associated with. I was always a fan of music but never thought of myself becoming an artist until I was inspired and persuaded by my older brother and his friends. They would come over turn up the beat and freestyle. They would encourage me to join them, I shied away but eventually it became a habit. I was about 14 or 15 at the time.
I was told by a close friends to never stop and to keep chasing my passion. So thats what I’m doing.
What about concerts? Do you play live?
I play live, I have concerts now and more coming up.
Best punchline you ever wrote?
i got a lot of clever lines but one thats coming to me now is from the recent ”The Co-Lab” album ”doing what you love all you need is consistency travel the seven seas perform my melodies sounding so heavenly, a team with chemistry strong like alchemy ask your boy corwley, like me he was lonely now I’m spitting that holly I don’t need no roley, got game like kobe or messi, chug it down quick kill you slow like pepsi, I’m right handed still nice with the lefty, nothing you could do or say could ever affect me, I’m so alive revitalized forever high don’t even try”
What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?
I have a few solo projects in the works as well as feature projects. I also got a few artists I’m working with on their own solo and feature projects. Im pretty much everywhere with the music. Love to keep busy especially when it comes to music.
Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
from what I hear major record deals are funny but will see what happens when the time comes. you never know.
