Cutting Through the Mix

Featured artist: Contrast - Cutting Through the Mix

Below is a short interview with the upcoming underground artist Contrast.

How did you decide to become an artist?

Contrast: Originating from Ontario,NY he strives to cut through the mix and innovate. His mom said he started singing and memorizing songs at 18 months old. The clarinet was his first instrument in the 4th grade but he quit after learning the basics. In 8th grade he started asking for a different musical instrument every birthday or Christmas. He didn’t start writing lyrics and melodies until he was about 17. He didn’t start writing and playing his own composed music until he was 18. But It only took one taste for him to know it’s all he ever wanted to do. The rest as they is history.

Find your x-factor.

What about concerts? Do you play live?

In the past I have played many live concerts under different names. I have yet to play my first gig under this name or in support of this project. My cd release show will be my first performance as a solo artist.

Best punchline you ever wrote?

Big players make big plays.

What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?

I am currrently working on my debut album ”To Each His Own” Right now I have two singles released and I will release three more before releasing the full album.

Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

That’s a loaded question. I mean yes I would sign a record contract with a major label. But I would have to find the one appropiate for me. It wouldn’t matter how much money they offered me. I would need it in the contract that I would keep full creative control. So when you show me that contract I’m in haha.

Any last words?

Shout out to Nico Porter, Jacob Lomaglio, Alex Marrero, Nate Coyle, Damon Rotoli, Mark Brown, James Halphin, Danielle Crawford, Steve Kress, Jay Hewitt, and my family.
