Featured artist: Kid Truth - All About The Kid
Below is a short interview with the upcoming underground artist Kid Truth.
How did you decide to become an artist?
Kid Truth: I started out freestyling with a friend who told me I was better than most people just starting out. I used to write poetry and lyrics so I applied that to rap and found my passion after recording the first song.
Just be yourself, that’s the best thing you can do.
What about concerts? Do you play live?
Yes, I perform any chance that comes around that I’m not being hustled, young artists beware of hustlin promoters.
Best punchline you ever wrote?
I go balls to the wall, that’s walnuts. Haha, first one I could think of.
What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?
I’m working on my new Destiny EP, I have released a collaborative album called ’The Haze’ as well as my solo album available on iTunes and most music providers the ’Kid Truth EP’.
Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes I would. The pros and cons are obvious to me, pros are being paid to live your dream make music and do yours. The cons are any loss of creative control over my brand that I put into the public.
Any last words?
Of course a shoutout to H-Town, also Toni & Fiya, Midnight, Diamondbag Ent, Augustus Tutu, J.Lyndon Hughes, J.P.I., Chris Aguilar, my boy Rico with Vice Club, J Will & the rest of The Certified, Kalin King, Aye Young, Khaneel jr. AKA Rich Kid Entertainment, to my whole family and everybody that supports me, and a shoutout to the girl that first believed I could do this shit, even though she’s moved on to better things. To all of those who doubt me, thank you for making each victory that much sweeter. H-Town Stand Up!!
