Featured artist: Q Tha Lyricist - Local DMV Artist
Below is a short interview with the upcoming underground artist Q Tha Lyricist.
How did you decide to become an artist?
Q Tha Lyricist: I get that question often these days. When I was about 5 years old all I ever listened to were people such as Tupac, Biggie, Eminem, E-40 you know. The legends. But around age 8 when I heard my first Lil Wayne song is when I was inspired to get my music career started
The best advice given to me as an artist was when my dad said to me ”son there will come a time you will be on stage and you will forget your lyrics. when that happens, freestyle until you remember.” that advice came in handy this past October.
What about concerts? Do you play live?
I do perform live as often as possible. I am actually doing a concert in Manhattan next month.
Best punchline you ever wrote?
”Im a king against the state Im a god stuck in the world Mount Olympus wont mount me up cuz they fear what they cant touch”
What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?
I am currently working on both an Ep and a mixtape. My Ep is titled Blood Oath: King of death and my mixtape is titled Cannabis Paradise. I have released about 6 mixtapes in the past none of which I am proud of.
Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes I most certainly would. I believe that the only con about being a major label artist in my opinion would be the trashing you get from critics. Everything else about the life in the majors attracts me.
Any last words?
I would like to give a huge shout out to my man King Rich, Cj The Genesis, Morgan October, Reaper, my brother Phil, Jeff Banks ALL of BSN and EMR My beautiful Fiance and my beautiful daughter my entire family and last but certainly not least my daughters God Father. The city that I represent is Washington D.C. Big ups to the homie Junior Fattz and CEO Drew.
Where can we contact you?
Thank you for your time. We wish you and your career the success it deserves.
