Featured artist: Lay Swave’ - Hot Out Of D.C.
Below is a short interview with the upcoming underground artist Lay Swave’.
How did you decide to become an artist?
Lay Swave’: Growing up I’ve always wanted to express myself and I found out music was the best way for me to do that. All of my songs express me in some type of way and tell my story.
The best advice given to me as an artist was to keep working.
What about concerts? Do you play live?
As of right now I do not but I’ll be getting live performances lined up soon.
Best punchline you ever wrote?
Now i’m on da grind, yea all the time for my fam and you know it. I’m Elroy Jetson you’re Bam Bam, my words cut like a Flinstone. My ship taking off yea Neptune, live life in space
What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?
I’m currently working on my EP Exclusivelli and also my artist Big Homie Bonkers’ project titled DMV What’s Good. I’ve released 2 projects in the past titled A&E Auto Biograph-E and 24/7 Da Struggle Continues: Volume 1.
Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes, I would sign a contract with a major label. The cons of signing with a major label are poor promotion and my image being changed just to appeal to a certain crowd. The pros of signing with a major label are mass media exposure, countless resources and funds, and more hands on work with projects.
Any last words?
Shoutout to everybody in DC. Shoutout to my record label TNI. Free my man Brody Hookz aka Bigg Brody. Free my brother Click Clax. Look out for DMV What’s Good dropping in June and Exclusivelli dropping in July.
