Featured artist: JiG - bringing somethin new to the game..
Below is a short interview with the upcoming underground artist JiG.
How did you decide to become an artist?
JiG: I have always liked music its been a part of my life since I was about 5. but I really didn’t start writing music till I was about 17. being in high school watching all the cyphers and other artist do there thing inspired me to see if I could write a song and unfortunately I failed and failed and one day it just clicked, music has to be about you, your life, and your struggle, the things people can relate to. And to be able express how I feel and make people say dude I been through the same thing is what made me become a music artist.
To surround myself with positive people and positive things will happen.
What about concerts? Do you play live?
yes i have done mutiple shows throughout the inland empire and los angeles counties.
Best punchline you ever wrote?
imma trooper with common sense of a tutor//.. Knowledge of a scholar who learned how to flip a dollar//..
What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?
right now i just released my EP ”The Comeback” which u can find at www.youngjiig.bandcamp.com free for download and im currently working on my album which is called ”Open Heart”
Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
it depends on what they offer me im not selling my soul for anything and i dont like having to go to being a commercial artist either. cons dope to have a fan base under a major label and the cash advances are always nice
Any last words?
Yeah of course every artist has a million shout outs lol but I will make it short. first off gotta give God the first one without him nothing would be possible and my talent wouldn’t be relevant. To my team at Uproar nation thank u guys for always holding me down and having my back since day one we only getting stronger so keep working guys. to my family and friends u guys have been amazing through this music journey and pushing to pursue nothing but greatness. And last but not least the most important people to me are my fans that are just priceless I wouldn’t trade any of u and I hope that I continue to give u the music that helps you guys through whatever u are going through thank you all for your support.
