As part of our ongoing "Rap's New Generation" series, today we sat down with the upcoming underground artist Quinshaun from Chicago to talk about his recent music, his upcoming projects, his career advice and his overall experiences being in the music industry and he did not disappoint...
Thanks for taking the time to talk with us, Quinshaun! Let's go back to the beginning of your career. How did you decide to become an artist?
Quinshaun: I decided to become an artist back in 6th grade
When I first realized I could really sing
Thanks to shaggys it wasn't me and friend
Catching me sing it off guard lol
music has always been apart of my life
Thanks to my family and my own curiosity
and discovery of my favorite artist music always
Seems to present its self at the right times in my
Life or events in my life

I play live I haven't in a while
But I'm working on it

What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?
I'm currently working on a plethora
Of things I've been busy as an independent artist
I'm always working the things that are coming
up are my first official mixtape and ep
I'm so excited about them both I've worked
really hard on them also and r&b album
Yes I sing write as well as Rap I just released
2 singles Pretty Boy and The KiD my other singles
Are BLM I win And G.A.Y
Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I personally wouldn't sign with a label
Because I like being independent an owning
My masters to my music and because the social media presence is so strong that artist
Can make it with out being signed
if I was to sign with
A label it would be a partnership with them
Always pay attention to every detail of your
contract or any agreements with anyone
Any last words?
I wanna give a shout out to my family and friends
My boy Nick Rich and the bros they know who they are and every Chicago artist who paved the way
