As part of our ongoing "Rap's New Generation" series, today we sat down with the upcoming underground artist Bigga$tate from Chicago to talk about his recent music, his upcoming projects, his career advice and his overall experiences being in the music industry and he did not disappoint...

Thanks for taking the time to talk with us, Bigga$tate! Let's go back to the beginning of your career. How did you decide to become an artist?

Bigga$tate: I looked at a majority that was in need of influence you know talent with no structure destroys itself I saw so many that wasnt gonna be changed through normal means and a change was needed by someone that can make a difference while caring most of the time you get one or the other in disguise I always found myself having an affinity to music and a rebellion to be a consumer I wouldnt just listen to music I liked before I was an artist I would want to make my own alternative I found myself knowing I could make better and have found heartbreak at not letting myself for so long with feeling music physically I know its power so I choose to use it as my catalyst to change what others just judge to be wrong though music and not underestimating the political power an artist has in general it's why I decided to take the gift I have and do something bigger than me.

The genuine approach in this industry is not dead it will bare fruits way more than finessing ever could!

What about concerts? Do you play live?

Yes I give concerts I have done over 200 in Hawaii and over 100 in Chicago I also play live.

Best punchline you ever wrote?

Posiden when she riding only me she tryna see
But why did I give her a shot now she a bullet I dodged

What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?

Since my first released single 7 months ago I have released 2 eps which have streams in the millions and have had artist who have featured with Tory lanez bun b and lil b on them as well as singles and the second ep is getting re-released by Empire titled "Freestyle " which is how I make all of my catalog none written the few singles that have been released only weeks within being out they are streaming more than 100k collectively and some are internationally distributed courtesy of rehegoo group and I will be having all music promoted through the national basketball association thanks to United Masters selecting me .

Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

I would sign a deal my pros is the promotion and representation that would throw gasoline on the independent promotion and playing the algorithms the way I do and them bringing the pixals of the target market data they've accumulated through all their artist they've absorbed cons none for me because of labels being a credit card thing it doesnt matter when I can pump out albums in a week.

Any last words?

Shout out to joshua Vasquez for never switching up for all these years!
