Featured artist: Chigg - What was it like growing up where you were raised.
Below is a short interview with the upcoming underground artist Chigg.
How did you decide to become an artist?
Chigg: I had been rapping since I was 8 years old so i love hip-hop and the fact that I go threw so much and keep rolling I had to release it some way and i am very sorry when it comes to literary devices so I said fuck it. I also believe I am what current hip-hop lacks as far as longevity.
The best advice I was given was to never compromise my talent for the lack of in the listeners.
What about concerts? Do you play live?
I do perform but the last time I performed was like September of 2016.
Best punchline you ever wrote?
Beam on the scope to hit yo folks like yo favorite dance
What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?
I am currently working on recording and mixing down a few more songs to release a 2nd mixtape. I have released a mixtape in early 2014. I am also working on a rental business for prop weapons for music videos
Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I would prefer not to bit I would for the simole fact that I have a family to provide for but the ideal way is to obviously go indie but I do not have the time or funds for that and as I said before I have a family to provide for and the pros would be quick come up as far as getting known then I would be a bit to get shows and lots of promotion based off of my association but the cons of course are the fact I could be making more money as a independent artist and the label will most likely water down and control the essence of me
