Featured artist: RedBeSnappin - What's Next?
Below is a short interview with the upcoming underground artist RedBeSnappin.
How did you decide to become an artist?
RedBeSnappin: I never thought about being a artist. My older sister use to rap like Salt and Pepper and diss me so I just started rhyming to battle my sister lol. When I was about 15, Stretch CEO of OnPoint Enterprises gave me an instrumental and asked me to do something to it and there you have it.
The best advice given to me as a artist was… "You will only get out the work you put in."
What about concerts? Do you play live?
Yes. I've performed in Canada, Florida, and New York. I recently performed two songs at an artist showcase in Durham, NC at Emerald City Ultra Bar Lounge (shoutout to Buzzy and DJ Fatz!) Performing is the most exciting part of music for me. I love to see people wild out in a cool way when I put on!
Best punchline you ever wrote?
Lol… Serious? I can't be narrowed down to my best punchline.
What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?
I just finished my EP "T.G.I.F.F." (Thank God I'm Finally Free) with the pre order date of Sept 28, 2016 for my single "Outta Control" on all major streaming retailers. I.E.B. (I Eat Beats) vol.1&2 mix tapes are ready to move, and I'm in the lab on my second EP. I have a track record of past CDs, shows, and work. Follow my Instagram @redbesnappin and my promoters page @di_litefulbeauty for upcoming releases and information!
Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
No. Pros: Image package. Cons: May try to control your creativity and dealing with a major label can affect your royalties, publishing and rights.
Any last words?
Shout out to everybody who is living with the odds stacked against them for staying strong. 716, 352, 904, 813, 904, 919 OPE, WolfGang, Paper Politicians, Team Armadale. I can go on for days!
