Featured artist: DK - Idaho Rapper Making Moves
Below is a short interview with the upcoming underground artist DK.
How did you decide to become an artist?
DK: I've always known that I wanted to be a rapper. Since I was 10 years old I have been inspired by Tech N9ne and Strange Music. My mother past away when I was 11 years old, very traumatic for a little boy who's father has been paralyzed since before I was born. I am my fathers caretaker and he is my rock. He supports my choices when it comes to music, I promised myself that I will never stop doing this. I have to make something of myself so when I get to heaven I can tell momma I made it.
"Just do you and the reward will be greater." -Tech N9ne
What about concerts? Do you play live?
Yes, I have performed live for many people. Live sound is one of my favorite things to do. Gets my blood pumping, the crowed screaming and dancing ugh! I am getting excited just thinking about it.
Best punchline you ever wrote?
Best believe that I'll hold it down for my soldiers. We warriors, victorious, United States and we glorious.
What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?
I am currently working on my new 6 song EP "Schizo" which will feature the names such as Skatterman and Wrekonize from Strange Music. ( other names to be announced ) Also I released my 3rd album "Narcissistic" last month on the 9th. It has been getting a lot of attention and feedback. I am very thankful for all of my fans.
Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
No, I believe being independent is the way to go. When it comes to "major labels" the only one that I want to be with is Strange Music. That is my goal, my life dream, everything I have worked for is Strange Music. The industry is a joke and the world needs to know that.
Any last words?
I would like to thank my best friend/Engineer Tyler Barker for being a straight up ninja on pro tools, and for making all of my music sound amazing. I would also like to thank my Father for believing in me. It's not very common for a white boy from Idaho to be at the level I am now.
