Featured artist: Behno - Get 2 Know Chicago's Upcoming Artist Behno
Below is a short interview with the upcoming underground artist Behno.
How did you decide to become an artist?
Behno: It all started when I was 12. I was always into music so I would just write lyrics down and rap it to my homies. They will always tell me it's ok keep working. I got locked up my senior year in high school bonded out and met a guy from New York who had his own in-home studio. They persuaded me to get on the mic, so I remixed The Game Hate It Love It Beat. Everybody in the studio was going crazy like you killed that shit. That help me build my confidence up & ever since then I stuck with it.
The best advice given to me was be yourself. You see so many artist out here now days getting exposed because they rapping about a life they never lived or always tryna be tough on social media. Everything I put in my music is based off what I lived, seen and been through. No Exaggeration!
What about concerts? Do you play live?
No I do not play live, but It's something I been interested in doing. Haven't done any big concerts yet, but you can catch me performing at local clubs & bars across Chicago.
Best punchline you ever wrote?
I'm off the Henny I'm blowin smoke just like a chimney, I'm on nat bullshit I came to play like Rose & Jimmy
What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?
I'm currently working on my six track mixtape called "The Mark Of The Beast" that will drop before the end of 2016. I also will be dropping an EP called "Any Given Sunday" in 2017. So definitely be on the lookout for that.
Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I'm not against signing to a major label if that money & paperwork is right. But I was always taught to be my own man so I will definitely be going the independent route for now.
