Featured artist: Fiyah Mc - FIYAH MC Representing Two Cultures at the same time

Below is a short interview with the upcoming underground artist Fiyah Mc.

How did you decide to become an artist?

Fiyah Mc: From making a song on a school trip about the things we had just learned. Then everyone started singing it, once i saw everyone having fun I decided this is what I needed to be doing. Now I make dancehall and Rap music the two most powerful forms of musical expression in the world to me.

No Two people are alike so The only way to be different is to be yourself.

- Fiyah Mc

What about concerts? Do you play live?

Not as much as I would like but I’ve done my share of performances.

Best punchline you ever wrote?

Man i’m a wordsmith so when my pen hits paypa, what occurs turns water to vapour, so hot like the bubbling pot with no cover on, get yo recover on spot blown covers gone.
- Fiyah Mc

What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?

I’m currently working on my first album Hybrid Music which is a marriage of hip hop and dancehall music. In the past I released a mixtape called ”Unprecedented” that can be found on my soundcloud, reverbnation page and on datpiff.

Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

Yeah i feel I might sign to a major if I can get the contract I want. As far as pros and cons go, From what i’ve studied about the game majors can hold your album back, and then there’s these 360 deals where the labels now want money off everything you do and I won’t go for that. The pros of the labels are that they already have the network and resources to take an artist career from A-Z and they pay on time for the most partlol
