Featured artist: Ca$h McGee - Cashin’ Up with Ca$h McGee
Below is a short interview with the upcoming underground artist Ca$h McGee.
How did you decide to become an artist?
Ca$h McGee: I got into rapping back in elementary when me and my friends use to write raps and freestyle in class. I got serious about it after high school and started putting out mix tapes. From then on, I just been in the studio, dropping tapes, building my connects and putting in work.
Just go hard. Get out in the streets, meet people and just grind strong and hustle. Make people respect you.
What about concerts? Do you play live?
Of course. Doing shows is always fun. I’m always extra live when I’m on that stage. When I’m in your city, make sure you come out so I can show you.
Best punchline you ever wrote?
Not really a punchline here some cool wordplay. On my song called ”Talkin” I said: I made a plan so I can get it quicker, I figured out how to figuratively get the figures and with this figures I’ll escalate to a bigger figure, with bigger shoes to step on these small minded niggas.
What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?
I’m always working but I got a project out now. Its an EP called ”In Cash We Trust”. Its doing numbers in the streets. I got about 30,000 units of that EP circulating and still pushing. I also have a few videos out on Youtube & Facebook. I plan on shooting a video for every song on the ”In Cash We Trust” EP.
Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I would but it would definitely have to make sense. Im about the business so it has to be right.
Any last words?
Shout out to my company TheGrindington. Shout out to the whole Memphis.
