Featured artist: Wes Kardigan - WES KARDIGAN……….. This Is What I Am #HipHop
Below is a short interview with the upcoming underground artist Wes Kardigan.
How did you decide to become an artist?
Wes Kardigan: I decided to become an artist back in grade school. Just listening to different artists from around the world and becoming intrigued by their style, wordplay & delivery over beats. But what really did it for me is when I saw Common’s video for ”Resurrection”. I was hooked then like, ”This is what I want to do”.
Stay true to not only who you are as an artist, but also, who you are as a person.
What about concerts? Do you play live?
Yes I do play live. I have an upcoming show in St. Louis Nov 15th @ The One Night Club.
Best punchline you ever wrote?
Scared to fight—-Giving real hittas a bad name—-When yall just a bunch of bitch boys—-With a bad aim.
What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?
I am currently performing and promoting my new single, ”Ah Yeah (She Needs Me)”. You can check out @ https://soundcloud.com/wes-kardigan/ah-yeah-she-needs-me-prod-by-wes-kardigan.
Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Maybe. Pros: Major exposure big-time money for marketing and promotion. Cons: sitting on the shelf, compromising who you are an artist for the sake of chasing what is popular right now.
Any last words?
Peace and blessings to my family, blood and extended, back home in Chicago. #CityLove
