On the come up: Dylinger

Featured artist: Dylinger - On the come up: Dylinger

Below is a short interview with the upcoming underground artist Dylinger.

How did you decide to become an artist?

Dylinger: I’ve been writing raps since I was about 12. When I was about 14 a couple of my friends, who knew I wrote raps, took me over to a guy in my neighborhood who had recording equipment. (By recording equipment I mean a rockband mic and a laptop.) I recorded a song I had written and when we released it, the whole town went crazy. Everybody in the area had heard that song. So I knew I had skill and people liked what I had to say. From then on I knew that this is what I am going to do.

Just dont slow down and no matter what anybody says, never stop chasing your dream.

- Dylinger

What about concerts? Do you play live?

Yes, I play live in Cincinnati all the time.

Best punchline you ever wrote?

”Treat my dick like a candle, blow it like a second chance”
- Dylinger

What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?

I am currently working on a mixtape which will drop sometime in spring 2015. I have released a mixtape before called ”The Warm Up” And I recently did something called Hip Hop Weekly where i dropped a remix to a song every week for 27 weeks.

Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

Yes, I would sign to a major label, but only if I had enough control over my music. Because a pro for signing to a major lable is that it would get my music out there for more people to hear. A con for signing to a major lable would be that the lable would have all the power over my music and take away the art from me.

Any last words?

Shout out to Grove Hood, Crash, Cherokee B, Bmillz, Tre Finesse and the whole Same Gang movement, Yung legend, the Mad Frog, and Cdoug.

Where can we contact you?
