Featured artist: MD UNO - Who Is MD UNO?
Below is a short interview with the upcoming underground artist MD UNO.
How did you decide to become an artist?
MD UNO: I’m a writer by birth. I would write short story booklets when I was 8 years old in the 3rd grade and my teacher would post the books in or class room library for the other students to read them. I started writing rhymes around 8 as well. When I turned 13 I realized I had a God given gift and so I started taking my artistry serious around that same time.
I dont think ive heard my best piece of advice yet. Ive recieved a lot of encouraging things said to me but nothing so profound that I feel like I will always remember. I do remember hearing Dame Dash saying ”its always gonna feel like its not going to happen but never give up” and even though that wasnt told to me specifically, that was something that always stuck out to me.
What about concerts? Do you play live?
Yes I perform all over Georgia. My self and a number of other independent artists are currently working on putting together a concert. All of my show dates are updated on my website weekly at www.md1music.com.
Best punchline you ever wrote?
All the money in the world wouldnt make the thuggin leave us, im everlasting like the blood of Jesus.
What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?
Im currently working on an inspirational album titled ”Complete Deliverence” and also just creating in general and building on my catalog. I have released 4 Mixtapes 3 of the four you can listen and download on my website www.MD1music.com . My very first project titled ”zoned out” Is intentionally not on my site. I’ll keep it in the archives for now and then one day when I have the attenion of the Masses I may re-release it. But for now its all about ”I Want The Streets”, which is my most recent project. In my opinion its definitley my best piece of work to date.
Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes, I would, it just couldnt be a 360 deal. That to me is the worse part about signing with the majors today.
Any last words?
God 1st Get money, Shout out to my whole team One Nation and the GuudFellah Family. Special shoutout to my partner Play Boi Zay, Candy Cartel and my Daughter Emerald.
Where can we contact you?
