Featured artist: Zone Hefner - Zone Hefner Speaks
Below is a short interview with the upcoming underground artist Zone Hefner.
How did you decide to become an artist?
Zone Hefner: As a child I was musically inclined. My step-father was a DJ and would always play music while we were home. I could dance but I would always remember the words to the song as well, making up rhymes myself the next time I heard the song again. I began to start writing in the 6th grade, and its became my sport ever since.
Don’t be afraid to express yourself within your music; be original.
What about concerts? Do you play live?
I have performed live at a few local parties.
Best punchline you ever wrote?
Im smoother than some chapstick, father of this rap shit, Hip-Hop is not a bastard.
What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?
I’m currently working on an EP titled, The Honorable: A West End Story. I recently released a mixtape titled, The Transition.
Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I would sign with a major label. It would be beneficial to me, as far as exposure and running with a strong team with a bigger fan base. The downfalls of that could be me not being able to do what I want to do at any point given; when it comes to money, that could become an issue as well.
Any last words?
I want to give a big shoutout to EVERYONE who has supported me and my music from day one! Shoutout to my hometown, Moncks Corner, SC! Shoutout to everyone who never believed in me; I take pride in proving others wrong, so I just want to say thank you! Shoutout to my mother, I love you dearly! Shoutout to my team, MOET. 843 stand up!
