Upcoming underground artist Kris Jae just answered some questions. Checkout the interview below and share if you like it.
Thanks for your time. How did you decide to become an artist?
Kris Jae: Since a kid i always knew that i was blessed with an amazing gift and that was to make great music. It wasn’t until my junior year in high school (Hillhouse), i decided to give it a serious push but i lost focus through out the year. My senior year i moved back to Georgia ( southside, ATL) and my ”peers” was continuously asking ”When are you putting out a project?” At that time being 17 i didn’t think i had a solid story to tell, but from the high demands for a mixtape i put together a something to hold em. I literally stayed up 2 weeks straight and put together a 12 track project and released it in 2011. The response was very good now that i look back on it. At that point i still didn’t see myself as a full time artist and so many people saw the potential in me but i was more focused on being a teenager. After high school my life changed in so many aspect and at that point i had to make a life changing decision. I figured i wasn’t going to live my family dreams and start living out mines. So the summer of 2012 is when i took being a full fledge artist serious and now a lot blessing has came my way. This summer i will be releasing my second debut project called ”Unheard Talent” June 15 on whoiskrisjae.com
What about concerts? Do you play live?
Yes, i do play live. After the release of my project i will be in concert along side w/ some great coming out of Atlanta this July.
Best punchline you ever wrote?
”Oh Lord i’m on a mission/ I don’t got time for niggas dissing steady wishin’ that they was in my postion nigga listen/ Do you and i’ma do me, get ya weight up my name out here buzzin in these streets/
What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?
Right now i’m focused on giving the people a great body of work that can hopefully hold them over until we meet again. Also this summer i will be involved in a short film but thats all i can say right now.
Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
It depends on what the labels are offering considering the fact that my team and i are already putting in the ground work. I don’t want to be just marketed a certain way because that can either make you or break you.
Shoutouts and credits to the fam?
I would like to give a shoutout to the whole staff up at Young Atlanta & Royal Riches Clothing. The whole city of New Haven, CT & the whole SouthSide of Atlanta. Thanks to everyone who’s been supporting… Fa9to5
So how can we contact you?
