Featured artist: Bugzy Evans - Introducing, Bugzy Evans of Marvel Music
Below is a short interview with the upcoming underground artist Bugzy Evans.
How did you decide to become an artist?
Bugzy Evans: I was in the 3rd Grade in Ms. Levine’s class at Micanopy Area Cooperative School in Micanopy, FL (where I lived for my first decade of life) when I wrote my first rap song. It was riddled with all sorts of swear words. My teacher thought it was from a professional artist with how well written it was. I was a straight A student so she let me off on a warning.
My entire family is musically inclined; my father, a few uncles, a couple of cousins, all of them were either recording artists or producers. It wasn’t until around my senior year of high school where I decided to dust off the gloves and pursue a career in the industry
When all the cards are in favor of the opponent, never show signs of backing down. Keep pushing
What about concerts? Do you play live?
My label performs live, at birthday parties, weddings, concerts, even dance performances
Best punchline you ever wrote?
Money doesn’t equal talent. Hard work, consistency and perseverance do.
What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?
Currently working on the double project SailMySoul/SaveMySoul which is an album and mixtape that ties with my life, dreams and goals. Last year the EP #iAintFriendly was released on iTunes, Amazon & Google Play Store.
Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I couldn’t answer the question. Depends on the label that’s interested in signing me. I’m namely independent because of the pressures behind a major label. I just lack the resources and power that a major label possess. If it were up to me, I’d remain independent though. So no, but it’s a possibility!
Any last words?
The whole Marvel Music/Spidey Gang Record label, Major Noyze, Lexi Lex (former member of MMSG), Navy D with FloodNation, Craig C-Double out in Chicago and J-Stone in Cali!
