Featured artist: Eye Judah - A Humble Artist with a Passion to be Savage
Below is a short interview with the upcoming underground artist Eye Judah.
How did you decide to become an artist?
Eye Judah: Not sure if it ever really was a conscious decision, The true artists are born that way. Music was always important in my family growing up. The need to be creative and express myself just went naturally with writing rhymes. Wrote my first verse at ten years old and haven't stopped since.
Easily the best advice I received was to stay unique and never sacrifice my integrity to conform to what anyone else thinks I should rap about.
What about concerts? Do you play live?
I have played a few concerts when I was younger and I am hoping to do more shows soon with my new material.
Best punchline you ever wrote?
Last of Abraham, my hair gets knotty throughout the weeks/ I meditate in a pentagram made from the bodies of dead police!/
What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?
Im working on an album titled "Sanguine Night." Its a brutal and dark piece filled with unapologetic anger, witty and poetic lyrics, and references to obscure occultism and ancient history. Its been a long time coming and life has gotten in the way of its completion but I'm a perfectionist and it will be ready when its ready and released when I feel I have a decent enough buzz. I have released songs in the past using nothing but a demo version of fruity loops and a mic that came free with a Gateway desktop with Windows 97 on it. So its grimey as hell but most of those rhymes still hold up pretty nicely today even though I have changed and grown as an artist. Not to mention my studio setup has grown quite a bit too.
Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I would consider it for sure. It would be dope to have the power of a major label promoting my music for as many people to hear as possible. But it could also not turn out that way and the label might care more about promoting other artists. In addition to that the label might want creative control over my music and music videos and theres no way that would sit right with me.
Any last words?
Crown Energy Be, keep grindin'! Young Man Prince. Pistola Perez. I represent the world not one specific place so Bless up to every man woman and child pursuing their dreams.
