Michigan's Next Big Breakout Artist

Featured artist: Pat Polzin - Michigan's Next Big Breakout Artist

Below is a short interview with the upcoming underground artist Pat Polzin.

How did you decide to become an artist?

Pat Polzin: When I saw that musicians made a ton of money and got all the girls, I changed my major at Michigan State from engineering to rapping. I really just figured it was a smart business move. Making music is tedious and boring, but there is definitely a need for what I do. There are not enough up-and-coming rappers around.

Never accept a blowjob from someone too eager to give it.

What about concerts? Do you play live?

I just started doing live shows last year and it has been the most fun I've had as a musician.

Best punchline you ever wrote?

"If I'm watching HBO to see some boobs you can't get mad at me. You're reading 50 Shades of Grey thinking 'bout Grey's Anatomy."
- Pat Polzin

What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?

I am currently working on an EP that is very influenced by acoustic guitar rhythms, perfect music for relaxing in the summer. This style is a contrast from my last project, "Therapy," which was very EDM influenced. I don't want to ever create the same project twice, so I think flexing my versatility on this next project will show people that I can maintain a consistent style and quality over a wide range of production styles.

Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

The benefit would definitely be all of the resources a label has access to and the network they already have established. The downside is the potential loss of creative control. I would sign with the right label on the right terms, but I also don't think they're the only path to success anymore.

Any last words?

I want to shoutout the Capitol Villainz, Doin' It Crew, and Fuckboi Radio. My home state of Michigan doesn't need a shoutout, but here is something we do need: http://www.helpforflint.com/

Where can we contact you?

Pat Polzin: http://www.PatPolzin.com

Thank you for your time. We wish you and your career the success it deserves.
