Featured artist: VoO - VoO,The Best Artist You've Never Heard Of…

Below is a short interview with the upcoming underground artist VoO.

How did you decide to become an artist?

VoO: Well I started music as a hobbie back in the day with a couple of friends. We had this group… One producer and the rest of us were basically recording artists [Laughs.] A few years into this I started going solo as the group broke up. This was around the same time I realized that I was really into making music.

Time! Time is everything! Don't rush your art. It's your art. At the end of the day it's not about how much talk you get about your music… It's about how long people talk about your GOOD music!

What about concerts? Do you play live?

I've played live but not nearly as enough. and I would like to perform more. But yes I would say I'm a performer too.

Best punchline you ever wrote?

Really I've Been Having No Sleep. Can't Waste My Time Dreaming On Being What I Wanna Be.

What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?

I recently released a 9 track project, titled Hard Work. It is basically a project where I open up. It's pretty deep at times but it's enjoyable throughout. I released this on the last day of January (31st.) At the moment I am working on some projects that will be crazy nice, but I cant give out information about them at this point in time.

Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

I would sign on the dotted line, yes! I've heard a lot about labels using you, and I'm not the biggest fan of labels, but for a small dot on the map like me, it would be highly beneficially. I would really like my name to get out there and I think a label is one of the best ways to go, especially when your budget isn't as good.

Any last words?

I would like to send a massive shoutout to anyone that has taken the time to listen to my music and even more to those who have shared it. I would also like to send a big shoutout to all the producers and artists that I've worked with and those that I'm working with. A big shoutout to El Sistema 407 (from Santiago,Chile) , G.M.W (from Littlerock, California) , TSK and Wak Beats (both from East London, South Africa.) Oh I'd also like to send one to The Music Is Elation blog for the love!
