Featured artist: AlexanderTheGift - The Gift Outta Queens!
Below is a short interview with the upcoming underground artist AlexanderTheGift.
How did you decide to become an artist?
AlexanderTheGift: I've decided to become an artist when I realized, how truly blessed with I was with writing songs and poems and receiving great recognition from both. Inspiration growing up a lot of reggae music, RnB, classics, Hip Hop, and 6th,7th&8th grade taking music class learning about all the different types of music/instruments and the different people who played an important part with building this great art form we call music.
The best advice I was given as an artist was to not let anyone tell me I cant do it and Learn the business aspects of the music industry, so I cant be fooled or tricked into something I wouldn't agree too.
What about concerts? Do you play live?
Don't play live yet but when I do, I'm looking foward to bring a great vibe to the audience. I will start giving concerts after I finish these projects and giving them to the people to decide where our concerts should be based on fan areas.
Best punchline you ever wrote?
I'm turning nothing into something like a planted seed, All my oufits stay wavy like the 7 seas
What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?
Currently working on my mixtape and Ep, which both names aren't yet decided but will be released on all of my social media platforms before the ending of this month.
Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Not really looking to sign but if the time is right and everything makes sense then why not. The pros of signing to a major label are artist development, budgets inplace, advancements and many others but I can't really touch on rightnow. The cons of signing to a major label are no ownership of music content, money must be made or artist will be be dropped and indebt. Those are the cons that I am really focused on.
Any last words?
