Featured artist: RickAchet - Off the Wall
Below is a short interview with the upcoming underground artist RickAchet.
How did you decide to become an artist?
RickAchet: I’ve been an artist since I can remember. Drawings and poetry had a great impact on me growing up. Around 19 yrs old I decided to put my poetry in motion, writing to any instrumental available. It became a passion and a source of self reflection for personal growth. I intend to spread this energy with my music.
To quit. It seemed to have taken an opposite affect on me. It drove me, pushed me to isolation where I then discovered my best advice. To be myself.
What about concerts? Do you play live?
Yes. I have done many shows in the past. I’ve been involved in festivals and benefits. Always willing to put on a performance.
Best punchline you ever wrote?
”I give it to you so motha f*%@in straight you would think I’m gay bashin”
What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?
I recently finished my first solo mix tape, ”Infected.” 24 tracks of hip hop/rock, very lyrical and true to life.
Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Depends. I have a vision. I don’t want to be ”owned” I have no problem building independently
