Featured artist: Nightmare of Kamp Crystal Lake - A NEW NIGHTMARE

Below is a short interview with the upcoming underground artist Nightmare of Kamp Crystal Lake.

How did you decide to become an artist?

Nightmare of Kamp Crystal Lake: I grew up in the golden age of Hip Hop in the early 90s. Hip Hop in the mid 90s was street related music that i could relate to growing up on the streets’ i was privileged to of been around when the Wu-Tang released their Enter the 36 Chambers album and also the Gravediggaz and the Flatlinerz in the early 90s. in 1997 i started writing my own verses and spitting acapella’s on street corners of south London. in 2004 i started my own HORRORCORE crew called BAD BREED members myself NOCTURNAL and CLOUD ZERO’ we started working on our album which i dropped 3 months ago.we started doing hip hop shows in 2005 across the north of U.K. 2006 BADBEED we went our separate ways and lost contact. last year i got into producing my own music creating my own style of beats. my hip hop beats are unique in using my own sounds in Horrorcore giving it a dark’ ambient’ Gothic and Raw’ my music is a cross between the Gravediggaz and Flatlinerz who are my 2 big inspirations for doing Horrorcore Hip Hop’ bringing back the essence of Horrorcore Hip Hop with a vintage style. last year i was discovered by K.C.L who heard my music i posted on the Flatlinerz page’ K.C.L got in touch with me and liked my style of raw hip hop beats and made me their official producer and newest member to the group. im now currently producing K.C.L new album and im also working with Kounerclockwise and Lex Masters.

be yourself and develop your own style as a rapper or producer.

What about concerts? Do you play live?

not at the moment but K.C.L are hoping to fly me out to Buffalo New York to do shows with them

Best punchline you ever wrote?

not believing im slaying demons and still proceeding to eat the flesh of a beast while its still breathing’ no intervening when im creeping to move into the darkness on Freddy Krueger then i catch him while hes day dreaming

What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?

I released my BAD BREED album E.P a few months back i also released a mix tape called Jason Voorhees 13th Chamber and producing K.C.L album Evil Reborn

Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

im an underground producer and rap artist and for me real Hip Hop is underground and thats where i wanna be’ once you go mainstream your style and who you really are as an artist gets watered down.

Any last words?

i like to give a shout out to K.CL Kamp Crystal Lake for bringing me in the group and giving me that opportunity to show my talent and skills’ also like to give a shout out to the Kounterclockwise crew in Cleveland for collaborating with me ’ and also big shout out to the FLATLINERZ for inspiring me to be part of this Horrorcore Hip Hop.
